Ed Lanquist is a Chambers Band 1 attorney and has received recognition from Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and other sources. His practice is focused on patent, trademark, and copyright litigation, intellectual property counseling, trademark prosecution, and technology law.
Ed’s more than 30 years of practicing intellectual property law have provided him with experience on most any IP issue. He has prosecuted over 150 patent applications and over 1,400 trademark registration applications. This vast IP prosecution experience lends itself well to the courtroom, where he has litigated over 170 intellectual property cases.
Ed uses his extensive IP prosecution and litigation experience when counseling clients on how to structure their IP portfolios, as well as considering the economic implications of IP protection and litigation. He has performed numerous patent studies, including freedom to operate, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions, and more than a thousand trademark use and registration opinions.
Ed also is extremely active in the legal community and with charitable organizations throughout the region. He serves on the board of several legal organizations and is the current General Counsel for the Tennessee Bar Association. His community service involvement is extensive, displaying his continuing commitment to the community at large.
